I am a 23-year-old aspiring journalist and recent graduate from a big fancy school on the East Coast. I am a feminist. I am a sci-fi nerd and an acolyte of cyber-punk. I love to eat, sleep, read, write, travel, live in Boston and drink coffee in the company of interesting people. I also love my boyfriend, my family, my friends and my cat (though not necessarily in that order.)
I am political, but my politics come second to my sense of good aesthetics.
I love the movies. I love Neil Jordan, Jean-Luc Godard, Martin Scorcese, the Coen brothers, Paul Greengrass, Werner Herzog, Quentin Tarantino, Jane Campion, Julie Taymor and David Mamet. Among others.
I wish Roman Polanski wasn't such a good director, but I understand that the universe frequently grants genius to monsters.
I am a temp during the day, and I work at a newspaper on the weekends, covering stabbings and bad weather. Like most people, I work too many hours for not enough money.
I have decided to start this blog because my friends and loved ones are getting sick of hearing me talk about film. It will specialize in film and television reporting and reviews. I will write in AP-style, and fully cite all of my sources, just like a real journalist. I have no idea how often I'll post.
So tell me, friend- who, pray tell, are YOU?
